About The Discovery Wire
The Discovery Wire is a science desk for the endlessly curious. We cover the experiments, the instruments, and the open questions — the things researchers actually found, and the things nobody has figured out yet.
Our ground rules
- Already-public science only. We report findings that reputable outlets and institutions have published — never "discoveries" of our own.
- Open questions stay open. When something is unsolved (like the Kryptos K4 cipher), we say so. We ask the question; we don't claim the answer.
- No predictions dressed as data. Earthquake roundups are roundups. Instruments report; we don't forecast.
- Every article carries its source. You'll find the outlet or institution we verified against at the bottom of each story.
Where to find us
- Facebook: The Discovery Wire — new stories land here, with discussion in the comments.
- This site: the full story archive, newest first.
Lab notes
From time to time we publish process pieces — how an instrument works, how a measurement gets made, what a dataset actually contains. Science is a method before it's a headline, and we like showing the work.
