Meta's Muse AI invite codes, explained — what the 1-billion-token referral actually gives you
_Disclosure: this article contains the author's Muse referral code, B3NYLG. If you redeem it, we each receive the token bonus described below._
What Muse is
Muse is Meta's personal AI agent — a chat-based assistant that does multi-step work for you: research, trip planning, drafting, comparisons, image generation. It launched in the US in September 2026 and runs on a token allowance — tokens are the usage credit that powers everything the agent does.
The referral deal
Meta switched on referrals in mid-September 2026, announced on the company's social accounts. The offer, stated exactly:
- Sign up for Muse (free) at muse.ai/join.
- Redeem an invite code in Settings within 48 hours of creating your account.
- You get 1 billion Muse tokens. The person whose code you used gets 1 billion too.
How to redeem it
1. Create your Muse account.
2. Web: Settings → General → Usage → Redeem invite code. App: Settings → Redeem token/code.
3. Enter B3NYLG and confirm.
4. Check your token balance — the bonus appears separately from the weekly allowance.
The fine print, honestly
- The 48-hour window is strict. The redeem option only exists during the first 48 hours after you join. Miss it and the bonus is gone — it can't be applied later.
- One code per account. Codes from several friends don't stack.
- Codes have limited uses — roughly 20 to 30 redemptions per code depending on the rollout — so a code that worked yesterday can be full today.
- Tokens aren't cash. They're usage credit for the AI itself. By Meta's own framing they're worth a stretch of free-tier usage, not a payout.
- Region matters. Muse is still rolling out (US first, then Canada). If you're outside the supported regions you may land on a waitlist, and an invite code can't bypass that.
- Offers can change. The amounts and limits above are what's published now; referral terms get adjusted.
Why this exists
Referral programs are how new AI products buy their first wave of users: instead of ad spend, the bonus goes to the people who bring friends. A billion tokens sounds enormous — and it is a lot of usage — but its real function is giving a new user enough runway to actually try the agent on real work before the weekly allowance becomes the whole story.
If you join and find Muse useful, you'll get your own code to share — same deal both ways.
