Ken Urker, Fiancé of Gypsy Rose Blanchard, Found Dead on His Birthday in Louisiana
Headline card by The Night Desk
Ken Urker — the fiancé of Gypsy Rose Blanchard — was found dead on October 1 in Louisiana, on his birthday.
Urker was found unresponsive after a family member went to check on him when Blanchard's "happy birthday" text went unanswered. At the time of this first report, no cause of death had been released and the story was still developing.
Urker and Blanchard's story had been public for years: they met as prison pen pals in 2017, got engaged in 2018, split in 2019, and rekindled their relationship after her marriage to Ryan Anderson ended in March 2024. Their daughter, Aurora Raina, was born in December 2024.
What followed in the days after would become one of the most closely watched developing stories on this desk — an autopsy completed with no definitive cause, toxicology pending, and a family asking for privacy.
